Operation.

Pressing the red button on the Castle Care-Call home unit automatically dials either the designated Alarm Receiving Centre or any of ten personal pre-set telephone numbers such as a friend or relative. The home unit will continue to dial the personal pre-set numbers in sequential order until somebody answers the call. The Castle Care-Call home unit contains a powerful loudspeaker and sensitive microphone, so that the user is able to carry out a hands-free two-way conversation.

The pendant works by sending a radio signal to the home unit which will then activate the call. The Casthle Care-Call unit houses a sensitive microphone and speaker, allowing handsfree two-way digital communication. This allows an operator or end user to verify an alarm condition and provide detailed, possibly life-saving information to the emergency services or any other responders.

The Castle Care-Call pendant allows users to make alarm calls in an emergency within the boundaries of the wireless operating system, some distance from their home unit. It automatically interrupts and cancels any outgoing calls made from the home unit, including any other alarm calls if made by the users hardwired alarm system, once the panic button on the pendant is pressed.

The Castle Care-Call home unit has six fast dial memory keys and can interface with additional hardwired peripherals, such as external security sensors or alarm systems, making the system the most technically advanced social alarm system to date. Additionally, if the Castle Care-Callhome unit is in use on an outgoing call, the call will be automatically cancelled so that the alarm call form either the home unit or the pendant takes priority.

Speech Pendant.

The Castle Care-Call pendant panic button is surrounded by a protective rim and is activated when the panic button is pressed for one second. This has been designed into the system to prevent activation when the pendant is dropped or accidentally pressed, which will minimise false alarm activations.

One of unique selling points of the Castle Care-Call pendant is that it has three Light Emitting Diodes (LEDS) which inform the user what is going in after the panic button has been pressed. On pressing the panic button for a period of one second all three LED's, red, orange, and green, will illuminate for three seconds along with an audible tone. The orange and green LEDs will then go off, leaving just the red LED illuminated. On receipt of the alarm signal from the pendant the home unit will start to dial the pre-programmed telephone numbers and inform the user that it is doing so by only the orange LED being illuminated. Once a connection has been made and recipient has pressed the * key on their telephone accepting the alarm call, the Castle Care-Call home unit will then send a signal back to the pendant and listen to the monitoring station or the recipient via the loudspeaker within the pendant.

The Castle Care-Call pendant has a built in battery management system, giving an audible and visual alarm and will automatically transmit a low battery status to the Castle Care-Call home unit where it will be displayed on the home unit display during an alarm condition only. If the home unit has been programmed to dial an Alarm Receiving Centre, then they will be automatically alerted at the same time.
